Meet Ana

Ana is a lifelong Allentown resident and proud Louis E. Dieruff High School graduate who has lived in the district for 30 years. As a single mother of four, she knows the day-to-day challenges working families face and brings that lived experience to every role she holds. Ana is not a career politician, she has spent her life doing hands-on community work in schools, churches, and neighborhoods, building trust and showing up for people when they need it most.

On the Allentown School Board and as Community Engagement Coordinator for Allentown Blueprint Communities, Ana has focused on educational equity, family stability, and neighborhood revitalization. She was part of the monthly "Coffee & Conversations" at William Allen High School and then launched “Wake up and Connect” at Luis Ramos Elementary School. She promoted parent ESL classes and potlucks, and organized coalition meetings with firefighters, United Way, and local leaders to tackle everyday issues such as truancy by addressing root causes like unsheltered, mental health, and food insecurity. Ana also provided Spanish tutoring to community leaders, equipping them to communicate more effectively with their constituents, strengthen outreach, and build deeper connections while helping reduce language barriers.

Through the Fine Feather Foundation, Ana has run nurturing after-school and summer programs that combine literacy, culture, mentorship, and basic needs. She personally led meal programs (Monday–Thursday for three years), created weekend food backpacks in partnership with companies like Bimbo, coordinated with Six Street Shelter for transportation and clothing, and organized enrichment trips to Camp Fowler, STEM and wellness weeks, and activities such as talent shows, helping kids build confidence and long-term opportunity.

Ana’s civic leadership extends to the Parks and Recreation Board, Allentown Works Cohort, Allentown Public Library Board, and neighborhood efforts like Love Your Block. She listens to neighbors, converts feedback into action, such as advocating for traffic safety near schools, home-improvement grants, and expanded community projects, and stays committed to finishing what she starts so Allentown is safer, healthier, and more connected for every family.
